So, what have I done?

Freelance Health Writer

I dedicate full-time hours to service several clients with conscious copy and trustworthy, sharable content. My experience includes working with Healthline News, Verywell Health, Everyday Health, The National Drug Foundation, The National Eating Disorder Information Centre, Goalcast, and more. Circa 2013

GoViral - Editorial Manager of Freelance Content Creators

Goviral is the fastest growing digital marketing companies in North America. I was hire #22! I often reflect on this time as an online media industry training period akin to another university degree because I was entrusted with the following roles: writer, editor, team lead, brand and social media account manager, and manger of freelancers. I was a go-to for finding new talent and building rapport with clients with millions of online followers.

Teaching Assistant
Western University (UWO)

I was responsible for developing course-related materials and leading several tutorial sessions on a weekly basis, as well as grading and providing feedback on formal essays and coaching students for academic success. Course: Introduction to Women's Studies.

What kind of work was I doing before 2014?

Proud to say I've worked a  variety of positions across BC and Ontario that have all contributed to who I am today!

These roles have included (pretty much in chronological order)

  • Grocery cashier (Does anyone else remember when a 'starting wage' was 6.00/hour?)

  • Line cook, dish washer, drive-thru waitress, eventual supervisor at A&W fast-food restaurant distinguished by its burgers, draft root beer, and root beer floats!

  • Deli prepper, speciality baker including vegan & gluten-free, professional cake decorator (Wilton trained!)

  • Cold-call fundraiser for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada

  • Work study student for the Associate Dean of Arts at Thompson Rivers (involved research assisting, event planning, volunteer recruitment)

  • Walmart portrait studio photographer (Do these even exist anymore?)

  • Western University off-campus residence office coordinator London, Ontario

  • Volunteer abroad with Developing World Connections (Cambodia)

The greatness of the human personality begins at the hour of birth. From this almost mystic affirmation there comes what may seem a strange conclusion:
education must start from birth.
